Mike Neheli has over 27 years of experience in the field of Multi-Employer Trust Funds and has extensive Employee Benefits industry experience. He is fully aware of the diverse services and responsibilities that must be undertaken in the administration of Pension and Health & Welfare Trust Funds. Mike joined the firm in 1982 following his graduation from Business Administration with degrees in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations. Mike became a partner and was appointed Vice President in 1997 and appointed President in 2008. As a principal of the firm, Mike is a member of its Board of Directors.

He is also responsible for the overall operation of the firm’s Sales and Service Department, ensuring clients are provided with comprehensive benefit plan consulting and administration as well as servicing many of the firm’s Multi-Employer Trust Fund clients. Mike regularly attends and has been a frequent speaker at educational conferences of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and is currently a member of the Canadian Board.

Ron joined the Manion team in 2016 as VP Sales & Marketing and a member of the Executive Team. Since graduating Brown University in ’96 with dual majors in Economics and Organizational Behaviour Management, Ron has spent 20 years in the insurance industry, enjoying career success first in Sales and most recently as a member of the Senior Management team with one of Canada’s largest group insurers. With his experience on the insurer side, Ron brings a wealth of knowledge and experience dealing with both Multi-Employer and corporate clients. At Manion, Ron is responsible for continuing Manion’s focus on exceptional customer service while also leading strategic growth initiatives.

Joan Bonkowski, Vice President Administration and IS, and a member of the Executive Committee, joined Manion in 1985. Joan is also an integral part of Manion’s management team has been invaluable in all operational areas. During the last ten years, Ms. Bonkowski has held managerial positions in the following departments: Manager, IT; Senior Project Manager; and, Manager, Administration. As a Senior Project Manager, Ms. Bonkowski was a leader in the design, development, and implementation of the Manion Administration and Claims System. In the dual role of IT and Administration manager, she piloted several teams to handle the transition of large, multi-employer trust funds from other administrators to Manion.

Joan holds an Honours Degree from the University of Waterloo, and has earned the CEBS designation (with fellowship status) from the International Foundation, Dalhousie University. Joan is currently a member of the Executive of the Toronto Chapter of the ISCEBS.

Lisa joined Manion in 1984 after completing her Honours Degree from the University of Waterloo. Prior to becoming an Account Executive / Consultant in 1995, her roles included working in all areas of pension and benefits administration and management.

Lisa acts as Account Executive / Consultant for many of Manion’s multi-employer Trust Fund clients. She attained the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation through the International Foundation of Employee Benefits in 2000, and teaches at the Certified Employee Benefits program run by Humber College and ISCEBS. Lisa also speaks at educational conferences of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.

Lisa provides clients with comprehensive benefit plan consulting and administration, renewal underwriting, pension benefits administration and investment comparative measurement services. Lisa became a principal of the company in 2008.

Joining Manion in 1992, Greg brings over 20 years of employee benefits, pension and Multi-Employer Trust Fund experience to his role as Account Executive at Manion. After studying business administration Greg commenced his career in the Employee Benefits field by working in an underwriting and sales capacity at a large insurance company. Greg is responsible for providing benefit plan administration and consulting services in managing relationships with a number of large Multi-Employer Trust Fund clients. Greg has both a Certified Employee Benefit (CEB) and Pension Plan Administration Certified (PPAC) designation. Greg became a principal of the firm in 2008.

Mary Claire joined Manion in 1984. Throughout her tenure with the firm, she has had exposure to many facets of the business, including in the Administration Department both as an Administrator and Department Manager, and playing a significant role with the MPACS Project Team. In 2008, Mary Claire assumed the role as a Client Service Representative working closely with the Account Executive for a large number of multi employer clients. In 2011, her position changed to Client Relationship Manager using her exemplary customer service skills to enhance our working relationship with our clients.

Mary Claire’s strong relationship management skills, depth of company knowledge and technical expertise is invaluable in the ongoing development of new business. Mary Claire attained the Certified Employee Benefit (CEB) designation through Humber College in 1999. Mary Claire became a principal of the company in 2008.

Dan brings a broad and balanced perspective gained from his more than 25 years experience in the insurance industry. In addition to managing several large Multi-Employer Trust Fund clients, Dan works closely with the other Account Executives and oversees the in-house Underwriting team, where he plays an important role in deepening Manion’s technical pool so that we continue to provide the highest quality consulting services, while ensuring the fairest possible price to clients of Manion. Dan holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a double major in Management & Personnel / Industrial Relations from St. Mary’s University, and is a member of the IFEBP through which he holds a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation. Dan is also a member of the ISCEBS through which he has earned the distinction ISCEBS Fellow, and volunteers as a Director of the ISCEBS Toronto Chapter.

Angela Venkatarangam has been with Manion for 30 years having joined Manion in 1988. Formerly the Manager, Finance, Angela assumed the position of Controller in 2006. In 2018, she was appointed as the Director of Finance. Angela is a CPA-CGA and has a B.A. in Finance and Accounting.

In addition to her role in overseeing the company’s financials, she oversees the Finance Departments. She has expertise in all areas of finance for multi-employer benefit plans and financial systems design and implementation. She has been involved in the integration of new business in the Finance and Accounting Departments for the last 15 years. Angela ensures that Accounting and Finance standards meet or exceed the expectations of our clients, auditors and regulatory bodies.

Shirley is Manion’s Director of Information Systems and Group Benefit Services. She is responsible for the delivery of group benefit services to Manion’s employers and members as well as the execution of Manion’s ongoing digital initiatives.

With over 15 years of experience in the group benefits industry, Shirley has held leadership roles across operations and projects. Her blend of customer service, data focused decision making and project management expertise have been invaluable towards implementing operational strategies which have resulted in efficiencies and service enhancements to Manion’s customer base.

Shirley has a Bachelor of Commerce from Guelph University and currently holds both CEBS and PMP designations. In her spare time, she enjoys playing volleyball, cooking and spending time with her family.
